India is set to shine at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting from January 19 to 23, 2026, in Davos. Over 3,000 global leaders will gather to discuss "a spirit of dialogue" in today's divided world. U.S. President Donald Trump will be the biggest star, bringing the largest-ever U.S. delegation including at least five secretaries: Marco Rubio (State), Scott Bessent (Treasury), Howard Lutnick (Commerce), Chris Wright (Energy), and Jamieson Greer (Trade). More than 30 Foreign Ministers, 60 Finance Ministers, and 30 Trade Ministers will also attend.
Top political leaders such as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng, and Swiss President Guy Parmelin are expected.
From India, at least four Union Ministers—Ashwini Vaishnaw, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Pralhad Joshi, and K Rammohan Naidu—will join six Chief Ministers including Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis, Andhra Pradesh's N Chandrababu Naidu, Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma, Madhya Pradesh's Mohan Yadav, Telangana's A Revanth Reddy, and Jharkhand's Hemant Soren. While CMs Reddy, Soren, and Naidu belong to different parties, the others are from BJP. Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar was expected but will not attend.
Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Rameshbhai Sanghavi and high-level delegations from Uttar Pradesh and Kerala will also be present. Indian leaders will participate in panels such as "Can India become the third largest economy in the world?"
Leading Indian business figures include Mukesh Ambani (Reliance), N Chandrasekaran (Tata), Sanjiv Bajaj (Bajaj), Hari S Bhartia (Jubilant Bhartia), Sudarshan Venu (TVS Motor), and Anish Shah (Mahindra). Other expected CEOs are Amitabh Chaudhry (Axis Bank), Nadir Godrej (Godrej), Sajjan Jindal (JSW), Nikhil Kamath (Zerodha), Sunil Bharti Mittal (Bharti), Nandan Nilekani and Salik S Parekh (Infosys), Rishad Premji (Wipro), Prashant Ruia (Essar), Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Paytm), and Sumant Sinha (ReNew).
Former Union Minister Smriti Zubin Irani will attend as founder of Alliance for Global Good: Gender Equity and Equality, launched at Davos.
Global heavyweights such as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, World Bank President Ajay S Banga, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, UNESCO Director Khaled el-Enany, WTO Director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan will attend.
The event promises dynamic discussions on global challenges and India's rise on the world stage.
