2026 Home Decor Trends: Oversized Art and Artichoke Green Walls Take Over
January 18, 2026
As 2026 kicks off, search data reveals big changes in home decor. People want bold, personal spaces, not plain walls or generic rooms. Davincified, a platform that creates custom paint-by-numbers from photos, studied a year of Google searches to find which trends are booming. Large wall art leads with 33,100 monthly searches. Small sofas for bedrooms and oversized wall art are also very popular. “These trends show people want spaces that feel personal, not just Pinterest-perfect,” said Dr Eleni Nicolaou, Art Therapist at Davincified. Wood is also trending. Searches for cozy home decor, rustic kitchens, and dark wood furniture show a demand for warmth and natural material. Kitchens are moving away from built-in cabinets. Freestanding kitchen furniture and vintage kitchen decor are rising, offering character and flexibility. Hand painted and artisan tiles show people value unique details that make spaces special. The fastest-growing trend is artichoke green paint, a moody earthy color, growing at 1.43% annually. Oversized wall art is also growing fast, reinforcing the “go big or go home” vibe. Unfitted kitchen design and upholstery detailing indicate a shift toward flexible, customizable homes, ideal for renters. Dr Nicolaou noted, “These trends reveal people want spaces that support their wellbeing.” The mix of bold art with detailed personal touches creates homes that nurture, not just shelter. The message is clear: 2026 is the year to go big, go warm, and make home truly yours.
