Three Arrested Near Arcot for Possessing Country-Made Explosives

Ratnagiri police arrested three men near Arcot town in Ranipet on Sunday for possessing country-made explosives. The arrested were K. Prabhakaran, 29, S. Karthik, 30, and V. Sudhakar, 26, all from Amirthi village near Jawadhu Hills in Vellore. During a routine vehicle check, police stopped Prabhakaran riding a two-wheeler with two others. The trio was evasive about their travel and could not show valid vehicle documents. Police found 33 country-made explosives in their bag. The explosives and vehicle were seized. The men told police they intended to use the explosives to hunt small wild animals and to stop wild boars from damaging crops near forests. A case was registered, and investigations are ongoing.
