Vijayawada experienced dense fog on Monday, January 19, 2026, causing flight disruptions at Vijayawada International Airport. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority warned drivers to use fog lights and drive slowly. The morning flight to Visakhapatnam was cancelled, and other flights also faced delays. Fog has disturbed flights since Sunday, January 18 as well. The India Meteorological Department reported that shallow to moderate fog will persist over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Fog or mist is also expected in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on January 20 and 21. Despite the fog, daytime temperatures remain warm, hovering around 35 degrees Celsius. At 11 p.m., Vijayawada recorded a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.
