KTR Slams BJP for Delaying Sircilla Mega Power Loom Cluster Sanction
January 19, 2026
Bharat Rashtra Samithi's working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused the BJP-led Central government of deliberately delaying the sanction of the Mega Power Loom Cluster for Sircilla. He called the delay a political vendetta against Telangana and its weaving community. In a letter to Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh, KTR said the Centre's delay exposes its persistent apathy despite Sircilla meeting all eligibility criteria under the Comprehensive Powerloom Cluster Development Scheme (CPCDS).
KTR highlighted that this demand is over a decade old. He sent multiple letters and held meetings with Union Ministers in the last 12 years. Even Central teams confirmed Sircilla’s eligibility. "If merit is not the issue, then why this continued neglect? Is Telangana being punished for political reasons?” he asked.
Sircilla is a key textile hub in Telangana, with over 30,000 power looms supporting thousands of families. KTR criticized the Centre for approving Mega Clusters in other states with lower capacity while ignoring Sircilla.
He added that the Telangana Government had prepared everything, including land, power, water, single-window clearances, and state incentives. KTR accused the BJP government of shouting slogans like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ but failing to support one of the country’s strongest textile centers. "This exposes the BJP’s double standards and lack of sincerity," he said.
KTR also blamed BJP MPs and Union Ministers from Telangana for not protecting the state’s interests. He demanded an official announcement of the Sircilla Mega Power Loom Cluster in the upcoming Union Budget to end a decade of injustice.
