To mark 150 years of the iconic song Vande Mataram, the Madras Sappers military band will perform stirring martial music at Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru on January 25 at 4 p.m. The Madras Sappers is one of the Indian Army’s oldest regiments, with a proud 245-year history of courage and service. The Ministry of Defence said, "The military band, renowned for precision and patriotic fervour, will bring alive the spirit of Vande Mataram through powerful musical renditions that inspire unity, valour and national pride." This special event aims to connect citizens with India’s rich military heritage, celebrating a song that sparked the freedom movement and still inspires generations today.
