Northern Railway Extends Special Trains Between New Delhi and Vaishno Devi Katra Till Jan 27

Northern Railway’s Jammu division has extended its special reserved train services between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The move comes after almost 100% occupancy on earlier trips. Officials announced the extension on January 21, 2026. Each train will run four extra trips. Train No. 04081 (New Delhi to Katra) will operate extra runs from January 23 to 26. Train No. 04082 (Katra to New Delhi) will run extra trips from January 24 to 27. Earlier, Train No. 04081 was set to run from December 27, 2025, to January 17, 2026, and Train No. 04082 from December 28 to January 18. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said, "The special reserved train have maintained almost 100% occupancy during the previous runs. The train is not only benefitting passengers from Jammu and Kashmir but also those from other railway stations along the route, such as Jalandhar Cantt., Ludhiana, and Ambala Cantt." He added, "As a result, the operating period of the special reserved train has been extended once again for four trips (on both sides). Passengers are requested to check the train’s timetable before commencing their journey." The last extended service is scheduled for January 27, 2026.
