January 22, 2026
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI) in Mysuru has signed 94 technology transfer agreements with Kudumbashree, Kerala’s women-led livelihood mission. This is one of CFTRI’s largest technology partnerships. The goal is to empower women entrepreneurs using scientifically tested, scalable, and market-ready food technologies. In just five months, almost 50 technologies from CFTRI have been demonstrated and implemented with strong coordination. Another 44 are in advanced stages and soon will be operational.
Kudumbashree has developed 12 CFTRI-based food products, now launched for domestic and global markets, including the Gulf region. These launches show the quality and export readiness of CFTRI technologies. The products were officially launched by M.B. Rajesh, Kerala’s Minister for Local Self Government, Excise and Parliamentary Affairs. The partnership highlights Kerala’s strong role in linking science-driven innovation with grassroots entrepreneurship.
According to CSIR-CFTRI, this collaboration is a national model for inclusive technology transfer, women empowerment, and global market access.
