SR University (SRU), Warangal, has entered the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for the first time. The university is placed in the 601–800 global rank band for both Computer Science and Engineering streams, announced SRU Chancellor A. Varada Reddy on Thursday. Nationally, SRU ranked 21st in Computer Science and 18th in Engineering. The rankings were published on Wednesday. Mr. Reddy said this makes SRU one of the youngest Indian universities to appear in THE global rankings. He added, "The recognition reflects the institution’s sustained focus on quality education, skill-oriented teaching, faculty development, and basic and interdisciplinary research." Vice-chancellor Deepak Garg said the ranking highlights the university’s steady progress in academics, research, outreach, and infrastructure. Other officials present at the media briefing included Pro vice-chancellor V. Mahesh, registrar P.V. Ramana Rao, dean (operations & growth) R. Archana Reddy, and director-IQAC P.V. Raja Shekar.
