Luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co has designed a stunning new watch priced at an estimated $1.5 million. The watch features a hand-painted figurine of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani. Anant's statue sits in the center of the dial, surrounded by sculpted lions and Bengal tigers. The watch celebrates Vantara, a private wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre owned by the Ambani family. Vantara, located in Jamnagar, Gujarat, is home to over 2,000 animal species including lions, elephants, and tigers. It spans 3,500 acres and is not open to the public. The zoo attracted attention last year due to allegations of animal mistreatment, but a Supreme Court-appointed panel found no evidence of wrongdoing. Vantara was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023. The luxury timepiece contains 397 precious stones such as diamonds, green sapphires, and garnets. Jacob & Co described the watch as "a tribute to Vantara" and said Anant's figurine "symbolised stewardship and responsibility." The watch is not yet available in stores, and its price remains undisclosed by the brand, though industry experts estimate it at $1.5 million. Vantara was also the venue for Anant Ambani's extravagant 2024 pre-wedding ceremonies attended by Bollywood stars, global celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rihanna, and prominent leaders including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson. In a social media post, Jacob & Co celebrated the watch as an homage to the Ambani family's dedication to wildlife conservation through Vantara.
