January 25, 2026
On the evening of January 24, 2026, three Youth Congress activists were arrested in Kilimanoor for waving black flags at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The protest occurred near the Youth Congress protest pandal and was linked to the recent hit-and-run case that killed a couple, Rajith and Ambika. The activists Akhil A.P., Deepuraj, and Ajay J.G. waved black flags at the CM's convoy around 7:30 p.m. The protest was a follow-up to a hunger strike by Youth Congress members over alleged medical and police negligence connected to the case. Police arrested the protesters but released them later on bail.
