January 25, 2026
Rajasthan's Mining Department has collected a record ₹7,451.63 crore in revenue so far this financial year. This is 9% more than last year’s ₹6,824.54 crore during the same period. Principal Secretary T. Ravikanth said the department aims to raise even more money by the year-end. He told officials to focus on revenue recovery and crack down on illegal mining. "An effective monitoring of royalty collection on contracts, auctioning of the remaining contracts, and regular review by finance officers will ensure higher revenue collections," said Mr. Ravikanth. He also emphasized coordination with offices lagging in revenue and speeding up recovery of old arrears. Director of Mines Mahaveer Prasad Meena confirmed the ₹7,451.63 crore figure reported up to January 21, which is ₹627 crore higher than last year. The department is working hard to maximise revenue from all possible sources in 2026.
