The Srinagar-Jammu national highway remained closed for the third day on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Fresh snowfall hit parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, causing the road to shut down. Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded on the 270-kilometre highway since Friday, January 23, after heavy snowfall forced authorities to close it. A senior traffic police official said, "The highway is still closed as snow clearance operations are going on. The restoration might take some time as fresh snowfall is going on around the highway in Kulgam district." Srinagar city also experienced light snowfall early Sunday. However, despite the weather challenges, flight operations at Srinagar International Airport continue smoothly. An official from the Airport Authority of India in Srinagar confirmed, "The flight operations at Srinagar airport are going on normally." So far, three flights have already landed at the airport without delays.
