The BJP has urged Jharkhand Police to trace and rescue 24-year-old Kairav Gandhi, son of Jamshedpur industrialist Devang Gandhi, who was allegedly abducted more than 12 days ago on January 13. BJP leaders met East Singhbhum Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey to express concern over the case. Police recovered Kairav's car on the same night from Kanderbeda on NH-33 in Chandil police station area of Seraikela-Kharswan district. BJP's Jharkhand unit president Aditya Sahu said the party will speak with the State Director General of Police on January 27. They plan to inform Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 28 and ask for a CBI investigation. BJP's Jamshedpur Mahanagar committee president Sanjeev Sinha led a delegation to meet the SSP and submitted a memorandum demanding a fair and strong investigation for Kairav's safe recovery. He said, "The abduction of a young entrepreneur is a matter of concern and raises serious questions over law and order in the city." Sinha warned, "If a concrete action is not taken immediately, the BJP will have no option but to launch an agitation within the democratic framework in the interest of the masses."
