Minister for Sports V. Abdurahiman will be the chief guest at the official Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026. He will hoist the national flag at the Malabar Special Police (MSP) Parade Grounds at 9 a.m. The Minister will arrive after paying floral tributes at the war memorial at the Civil Station. District Collector V.R. Vinod and District Police Chief R. Viswanath will welcome him. Mr. Abdurahiman will accept the salute during the parade and deliver the Republic Day message. The parade will include personnel from the Malabar Special Police, Armed Reserve Police, Excise, women’s police wing, Forest department, Fire and Rescue Services, National Cadet Corps, Student Police Cadets, Scouts and Guides, and Junior Red Cross. There will be a total of 37 platoons. MSP Assistant Commandant K. Rajesh will lead the parade, with Armed Police Inspector Pradeep K. Manoor as second in command. Meanwhile, in Palakkad, Minister for Power K. Krishnankutty will be the chief guest. He will hoist the flag at 9 a.m. at Fort Grounds and accept the salute during the Republic Day parade. District Police Chief Ajit Kumar and District Collector M.S. Madhavikutty will welcome him. Mr. Krishnankutty will also present awards to the best platoons, followed by cultural programs by students from schools and colleges.
