The second Thrissur Cultural Capital Marathon was held at the Thrissur Corporation Stadium on Sunday with nearly 3,000 runners. The 32-kilometre full marathon started at 3:30 a.m. and was flagged off by District Collector Arjun Pandian, who also ran and finished in 4 hours and 19 minutes. The 21-kilometre half marathon began at 4:30 a.m., flagged off by Perumbavoor Assistant Superintendent of Police Hardik Meena, who also participated. The 10-kilometre race started at 5:30 a.m., flagged off by Kerala Gramin Bank and Elite Group representatives. The 5-kilometre run kicked off at 6:30 a.m., flagged off by Thrissur City Police Commissioner Nakul Rajendra Deshmukh and Thrissur Corporation Mayor Dr. Niji Justin, both of whom ran in the race. About 50 people took part in a wheelchair run held under the theme 'Back to Track.' The marathon concluded with a ceremony attended by Revenue Minister K. Rajan, Ms. Justin, Mr. Pandian, Mr. Deshmukh, and officials from Kerala Gramin Bank and Elite Foods.
