The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) announced a “Chalo Delhi” campaign to press the Central government for action after the murder of Manda Salman, a party worker, in Pinnelli village, Guntur district. The announcement came during a memorial event where party leaders paid tribute and showed support for Salman’s family. They accused the coalition government of neglecting Dalit communities and ignoring attacks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statues and other targeted abuses. The YSRCP condemned police for their alleged inaction and called for justice. Senior leaders like Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy, former MP Nandigam Suresh, and former ministers Mekatoti Sucharita and Merugu Nagarjuna spoke at the event. They demanded a CBI probe into the murder and strict punishment for those responsible. The leaders also highlighted that over 300 families have left Pinnelli and nearby villages out of fear of attacks, showing a worsening law-and-order crisis. They called for peace, rehabilitation of displaced families, and protection of vulnerable communities. The memorial ended with a large rally around Salman’s portrait. YSRCP leaders pledged to keep fighting for justice and to support the bereaved family until the culprits are punished.
