On January 26, 2026, the 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotism and respect in Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Kallakurichi districts. In Cuddalore, Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar hoisted the national flag at Anna Stadium and took salute with Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar. The Collector honoured 105 government employees with certificates and gave the Chief Minister's Police Medal to 117 police personnel. He also handed over welfare assistance of ₹6.29 crore to 107 beneficiaries. In Villupuram, Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman unfurled the flag at the Armed Reserve grounds. He received a guard of honour and gave certificates to 353 top-performing government employees. Deputy Inspector General R. Arularasu and Superintendent of Police V.V. Sai Praneeth were present. Kallakurichi celebrated with a parade at Government Boys Higher Secondary School. Collector M.S. Prasanth hoisted the flag and gave appreciation certificates to 312 government staff and Chief Minister’s Police Medals to 40 police officers. Superintendent of Police S. Aravind and other officials attended. School students performed cultural programs highlighting the patriotic spirit. The day combined honour, welfare, and celebration across all three districts.
