The Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) election heat is rising with B. Rakesh and Saji Nanthiyattu locking horns for the top job of president! The final chance to pull out nominations ended on Thursday, August 7, setting the stage for an electrifying contest that will take place on August 14. But that's not all — the battle for other powerful posts is equally intense. Listin Stephen, Vinayan, and Kalliyoor Sasi are in the race for general secretary. Meanwhile, the vice president’s seat has three fierce contenders: Sophia Paul, Anand Kumar, and Sandeep Senan. Drama added fuel when the returning officer rejected producer Sandra Thomas’s nomination papers for both president and treasurer positions on Monday, August 4. The reason? She supposedly did not meet the eligibility criteria for key office posts. But don’t count Sandra out yet! She slammed the rejection, claiming, "I was eligible as per the bylaws of the association." Taking her fight to court, she filed a petition before the Ernakulam sub-court, which is scheduled to hear the matter on August 11.
