What a dramatic twist! The infamous gangster Bombay Saleem, known for a string of crimes across South India, was finally caught by Indiranagar police after a thrilling chase from Pune. He was arrested for a house break theft reported in Indiranagar back in June this year. When police searched Saleem’s mobile phone, they were shocked to find a photo of him dressed in a police constable’s uniform! The police quickly questioned Saleem about this strange picture. He confessed, "I was arrested by Govindapura police about a year ago in a burglary case and was taken out of station with a police escort for a recovery." He revealed that a police constable, identified as H.R. Sonar, had stayed with him in a hotel but left his uniform behind when he went out. Taking full advantage, Saleem wore the uniform, made a video call to his wife, and took a cheeky selfie! Indiranagar police found this act completely unacceptable. D. Devaraj, DCP (East Division), took strong action, saying, "The police constable Sonar has been suspended for dereliction of duty pending enquiry." This shows how even small carelessness can cost big. Bombay Saleem is no ordinary criminal. He runs a dangerous gang with over 40 cases against him, including murder. Even from prison, he is known to control his operations without fear. However, with this arrest, police hope to put a big brake on his mischief. This case is a reminder that crime may hide behind unexpected masks—and sometimes even behind a police uniform! The thrilling hunt and surprise selfie certainly have raised eyebrows among law enforcement and citizens alike.
