Vijay Sappani, Canadian-Indian entrepreneur and CEO of Ela Capital, said on X that a tough stance on H-1B visas was “the best thing Trump did to Corporate America.” He explained that companies are now digging deeper into India because they can "pay half of H1B salary for the same talent instead of bringing them to US." Sappani predicts more US jobs will shift to India, a trend set to grow. His comments come as major US tech firms prepare to hire more in India in 2026. A survey by Blind, a professional network company, found that 52% of tech and banking workers said their companies will increase hiring in India next year. Of these, 34% expect a strong rise and 18% a moderate increase. The survey collected answers from 2,392 verified professionals across the US and India. It showed companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Uber, and eBay are hiring more in India. When asked about US jobs, 38% said hiring in India replaces US roles, while 23% said it helps recruit staff in the US. The survey also noted immigration policy effects. About 28% said H-1B visa restrictions push companies to hire more in India. Meanwhile, 25% said the policy change had no effect, and 4% saw more US hiring because of it.
