A viral video showed a woman in Bengaluru claiming a naked man in a car sexually harassed her. The woman said the man called out to her and drove his vehicle towards her in a threatening way. She shouted for help as bystanders ignored her, some thinking it was a social media stunt. The video was shared on the woman’s Instagram. Hebbagodi police noticed the video while monitoring social media. Head Constable Rushabhendra filed a complaint based on the video. He said, “The video clearly showed the woman accusing a man in a car of sexually harassing her while being in a disrobed state.” On January 25, police registered a case of sexual harassment under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are now checking CCTV footage from the area to find the accused. They are also trying to contact the woman to record her statement.
