January 27, 2026
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Durgam Srikanth, an outsourced Housing Assistant Engineer in Adilabad district, for taking a bribe of ₹10,000. Srikanth demanded and accepted the bribe from a complainant at the complainant's home. The bribe was for uploading photos of a partially built house under the Indiramma Illu scheme. These photos were needed to approve construction bills step by step. The ACB recovered the ₹10,000 from Srikanth's possession. He was taken to the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar. The ACB is still investigating and has not revealed the complainant's identity for security. The ACB urges people to report any public servant demanding bribes. Complaints can be made via the toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp, or social media. The bureau promises strict confidentiality for whistleblowers.
