Bomb Threat Emails Force Four Gurugram Private Schools to Suspend Classes
January 28, 2026
On January 28, 2026, at least four prominent private schools in Gurugram received bomb threat emails in the early morning. Authorities promptly suspended classes for the day to ensure student safety. Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said, "Many schools have received threat emails. The police teams, dog squads and bomb detection squads have been rushed to the affected schools. A First Information Report (FIR) is being registered in this connection."
Heritage Xperiential Learning School in Sector 62, one of the schools targeted, informed parents that it received "a couple of threats via email" and decided to suspend operations as a precaution. The school's Grade XII Board Practical exams scheduled for the day were postponed. Students who came by bus were sent back home, while parents with personal transport were asked to pick up their children, causing some panic. The school assured parents that students would be looked after until pickup.
Police thoroughly searched school premises, classrooms, buildings, and surrounding areas. "No suspicious objects or explosive materials have been found during the search so far," the police confirmed. Investigation teams are collaborating with cyber experts to verify the email's source and sender. Gurugram Police stated, "The law and order situation is completely under control, and there is no need to panic."
These threats come shortly after similar incidents at private schools in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, last week.
