Telangana Prepares for Polls in 7 Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipalities on February 11

Elections are just two weeks away in Telangana for seven Municipal Corporations and 116 Municipalities. On February 11, a total of 52.43 lakh voters will choose their Ward Members or Corporators. Notably, female voters at 26.80 lakhs outnumber male voters who are 25.62 lakhs across 2,996 wards. Once elected, these Ward Members and ex-officio officials, including Legislators, will elect Mayors and Deputy Mayors for Corporations, and Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons for Municipalities. Vote counting will take place on February 13, with results announced soon after. The oath ceremony for newly elected Ward Members is set for 11 a.m. on February 16. Later that day, at 12:30 p.m., special meetings will decide the Mayors and Deputy Mayors of the seven Municipal Corporations: Karimnagar, Ramagundam, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Mancherial, Kothagudem, and Nalgonda.
