JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled (JSSPDA), Mysuru, along with Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) and the Association of People with Disability (APD), Bengaluru, will organize a three-day inclusive programme from January 29 to 31 at its campus. The event starts with a one-day job fair on January 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here, differently abled candidates can meet inclusive employers and explore job opportunities. More than 10 employers and over 200 candidates are expected to take part. On January 30 and 31, a State-level Science Expo and Open Day will showcase over 50 innovative projects made by differently abled students from across Karnataka. The best projects will receive cash prizes, certificates, and mementoes, and all participants will get certificates. Cultural programmes, fun games, and food stalls will add to the festivities. The Science Expo and Open Day will be inaugurated on January 30 at 11 a.m. The chief guest will be Sadashivaprabhu, director, Department of Science and Technology, Karnataka Government. B. Elangovan, principal of JSSPDA, will preside over the event. Other guests include Dr. B. Suresh, pro-chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, and senior journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar. The valedictory function will be on January 31 at 4 p.m., with Dr. Basava Kumar K.G., joint director of Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, as chief guest, and S. Murthy, chairman of Deaf Association, Mysuru, as guest of honour. The event is expected to attract NGO representatives, parents, employers, alumni, special school students, and the general public.
