Telangana Electricity Employees Protest Against Transfer Policies at TGSPDCL
January 29, 2026
In Hyderabad, Telangana Electricity Employees Joint Action Committee (TEEJAC) and Telangana Power Engineers Joint Action Committee (TPEJAC) protested outside the TGSPDCL corporate office on Wednesday. Leaders Saibabu, Johnson, P. Ratnakar, Shivaji, Sridhar, and B.C. Reddy called for an immediate stop to the ongoing general transfers across all Telangana power utilities. They want the transfer process to start in June or July, as usually happens. The employees demand that the minimum service period at a posting be increased from two to three years before transfer. They also want transfer guidelines to be issued only after union discussions. The protest came after no response from management on these demands. They held a 'maha dharna' as the first step in a series of planned protests. Further actions will include relay fasts at corporate and district offices, with participants wearing black badges.
