On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu completed the Kumbabhishekam rituals for 75 temples. This made the total number of temples consecrated in the state since May 2021 reach 4,044. Notable temples consecrated included Sri Rajagopalaswamy Temple in Mannargudi, Kalyana Venkatramanaswamy Temple in Thanthondrimalai, Adi Thiruvarangam Temple in Kallakurichi, and Semathamman Temple in Perambur, Chennai. Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekarbabu attended the event at the Perambur temple. He was joined by leaders from Kaumara Mutt Siranai Aadheenam, Velakurichi Aadheenam, and the Sriperumbudur Jeeyar. Sekarbabu said, "The government had allocated ₹425 crore for the initiative. Along with funds from donors and temples, works had commenced in 352 temples that were over a thousand years of age." This large-scale effort aims to restore and maintain the ancient temples, preserving their heritage and religious importance for future generations.
