Around a dozen private schools in Gurugram received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning. The threats caused panic as schools quickly suspended classes and asked parents to pick up their children. Authorities registered an FIR and traced the emails to the US, according to police. More than a thousand police officers, including five bomb detection squads and three dog teams, searched school campuses but found nothing suspicious. Heritage Xperiential Learning School in Sector 62 was among the targeted schools. It told parents, "In the early hours of the morning, the school received a couple of threats via email. Acting immediately and in keeping with our unwavering commitment to the safety of our students and staff, we took the precautionary decision to suspend school operations for the day." The school also said the police and security teams were thoroughly assessing the situation. Grade XII practical board exams scheduled for Wednesday were postponed. Many students who reached schools by bus were sent home safely. Author and parent Aditi Mathur Kumar shared on X, "Earlier today, I got the kid back from school just half an hour after dropping her off. A few other schools in Gurgaon have also evacuated due to this bomb threat. So chaotic and scary." This incident follows similar bomb threats reported in private schools in Noida last week.
