Bluey Tops US Streaming Charts for Second Straight Year in 2025
January 29, 2026
The Australian animated series Bluey was the most streamed show in the US for the second year running in 2025. Nielsen’s year-end streaming charts reveal US viewers watched 45.2 billion minutes of Bluey on Disney+. This is a drop from 55.62 billion minutes in 2024 but remains impressive given the show's 154 episodes, most under 10 minutes long.
Grey’s Anatomy ranked second again, with 40.9 billion minutes viewed. This show has 455 episodes averaging about 40 minutes each. These results highlight a streaming trend dominated by “library series” — long-running shows with large episode collections. Other top shows in Nielsen’s top 10 include Family Guy, NCIS, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Netflix’s Stranger Things was the only original series in the top 10. It reached just under 40 billion minutes watched, boosted by its fifth and final season released in November and December. Nielsen’s data ended on December 28, so the final episode, released on New Year’s Eve, is not included.
Besides Bluey, SpongeBob SquarePants was the only other children’s show in the top 10 for 2025. Bluey’s creator, Brisbane animator Joe Brumm, announced in 2024 that he would step away from the series but will write and direct the Bluey movie due in 2027.
Bluey’s season three finale, a 28-minute episode titled "The Sign," aired on April 14, 2024, followed by a surprise short episode called "Surprise!" One. The series has no announced fourth season yet. When asked about Bluey’s future, producer Sam Moor told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, "It is not the end for Bluey. I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you." An ABC spokesperson confirmed, "We have no plans to end the show."
