Chennai police have arrested three men for sexually assaulting a woman at the canteen of the Government Arts and Science College in Nandanam. The accused are Muthuselvam, Gunasekaran, and Karthikeyan. The 20-year-old woman filed a complaint on January 28, 2026, to the One Stop Centre of the Social Welfare Department. According to her, Muthuselvam, who ran the canteen, along with Gunasekaran and Karthikeyan assaulted her at several spots including the canteen, other parts of the college campus, and a lodge. Gunasekaran worked as a cook at the canteen, while Karthikeyan was an auto-rickshaw driver. The police registered a case at Saidapet All Women Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The woman was given medical treatment and counseling. The accused were arrested and sent to judicial custody. Muthuselvam had managed the canteen for 12 years under a contract with the college. Police are continuing a thorough investigation into the case.
