Suspicious UAV Lands Near Bengaluru House, Police Launch Investigation
January 30, 2026
Residents of Palanjogihalli near Doddaballapur in Bengaluru Rural district faced a tense moment on January 29. A white unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) landed near a house on 10th Cross in a residential area. The UAV, a remotely piloted aircraft fitted with a 360-degree high-definition camera, sparked suspicion when nobody came forward to claim it. Residents called the police helpline an hour later. The Doddaballapur Rural police collected the UAV and took it to their station. A senior police officer told The Hindu, “No explosives or suspicious material were found attached to or concealed in the RPA. However, it had a bundle of wiring and small electronic components. So, it has been sent for a forensic examination.” The bomb disposal squad and central intelligence agencies were alerted and inspected the UAV. Police said the drone could belong to students experimenting with technology or defence personnel. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.
