AIADMK district secretaries will meet on February 4 at the party headquarters to discuss election readiness. The meeting, chaired by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, may confirm his authority on alliance decisions. On December 10, the party council allowed Mr. Palaniswami to handle alliance talks. The AIADMK allied with BJP in April 2025, and later joined hands with Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), led by Anbumani Ramadoss. The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), headed by former MP and MLA T.T.V. Dhinakaran, also joined the coalition with BJP's support. Some smaller parties have become part of the alliance too. By January 24, AIADMK completed interviews for candidates, receiving 10,175 applications for Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. On January 29, Mr. Palaniswami rejected a request from former coordinator O. Panneerselvam to return to the party.
