EOW Arrests Trio for ₹500 Crore Investment Scam Affecting 11,000 Investors in Maharashtra
January 31, 2026
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested Sameer Narvekar, his wife Neha, and their associate Amit Palaw for cheating over 11,000 investors out of more than ₹500 crore in Maharashtra. The trio was caught in Gujarat on January 29, 2026, in a coordinated operation by Thane police. They ran an investment company named Trade with Jazz, started in Pune in 2019. It promised investors 4% monthly returns from stock market trading and related ventures, claiming monthly earnings of nearly 10% to gain trust. Over 1,500 investors were police officials, among the 11,000 people cheated. The company suddenly shut down and stopped responding, causing many complaints to police. The EOW found several government officials and retired bureaucrats also invested in the scheme. The accused are charged under the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act, 1999, and sections for criminal conspiracy and breach of trust under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Authorities are examining bank accounts and money flow and expect more arrests soon.
