A 60-year-old retired Indian Air Force personnel was shot at in a shopping complex in Sushant Golf City, Lucknow, police said on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Two people are suspected to be involved. "The incident occurred around 10.15 p.m. on Friday at Shopping Square-2 in Ansal Sushant Golf City, following which the police control room received information through Dial-112," said DCP (South) Nipun Agarwal. The victim, Avadhesh Kumar Pathak, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar district who runs a shop called 'Rasoi By Maa' in Shopping Square-1, was loading items from his shop into his car when the two unknown individuals fired shots. One bullet hit him above his right eye. He was rushed to Medanta Hospital. Doctors said his condition is stable and he is out of danger. The police registered an FIR at Sushant Golf City Police Station against two unidentified suspects, based on a complaint by the victim's wife. CCTV footage from the area is being checked. The DCP has set up eight special police teams to solve the case.
