Kalaburagi Police Nab Two Burglars, Recover Gold and Motorcycle Worth ₹12.14 Lakh

Kalaburagi police have cracked four house burglary cases. They arrested two habitual thieves and recovered valuables worth ₹12.14 lakh, including gold ornaments and a motorcycle. Police Commissioner S.D. Sharanappa shared the update on January 30. The case began when Veerabhadrayya from Veerendra Patil Layout reported a burglary. Burglars broke his house lock and stole items worth ₹4.35 lakh. A special police team led by Inspector Khaja Hussain acted quickly. Using technical and scientific methods, police caught Appaji Gangaram Chavan and Santosh Govind Chavan from Aland taluk. Police found 67 grams of gold ornaments, ₹1.02 lakh cash, and the stolen motorcycle. The accused were sent to judicial custody. The four thefts happened between May and August 2026, one each month. Police explained that the burglars watched neighborhoods, targeted locked houses, then broke in to steal. Commissioner Sharanappa urged people to install CCTV cameras at home. He said, "Surveillance systems not only deter criminals but also play a crucial role in identifying offenders and strengthening investigations."
