The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has issued a strict order to remove all advertisements promoting tobacco products from its buses and bus stands across Karnataka. This ban covers all ad forms, including those on buses, hoardings, and signboards at bus stops. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy directed KSRTC to act immediately and ensure any existing tobacco-related ads are taken down by February 15. KSRTC has asked divisional officials to notify advertising licensees about this ban and to stop direct or indirect tobacco promotions. Officials must follow up and submit compliance reports to the KSRTC head office by February 18. This move aims to reduce tobacco influence and promote healthier public spaces in Karnataka.
