Lucknow saw a burst of drama as the Monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly began on August 11, 2025. The spotlight was on the Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP), whose MLAs staged a lively protest right on the Assembly grounds. Waving banners, posters, and placards, they gathered near the statue of the legendary Chaudhary Charan Singh, shouting sharp anti-government slogans that echoed loudly. One catchy slogan was "Aap Chalaye Madhushala, Hum Chalayenge PDA Pathshala." Some of the spirited faces in this protest included SP MLAs Sangram Yadav, R.K. Verma, Faheem, Jai Prakash Anchal, and Nafees Ahmed. The issues they aimed to spotlight during the session were serious — from the merger of schools to the dangerous flood situation across the state. On the other side of the political stage, the ruling party was ready to unveil something big. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had already held a crucial all-party meeting the day before, on August 10. In that meeting, Mr. Adityanath stressed the need for meaningful talks in the House, saying, "It is necessary to have meaningful discussions on issues related to the public in the House, because only public representatives can best express the sentiments of the public in the House." The star of the session will be the draft of the Vision Document-2047, which the ruling party plans to present. CM Yogi called it a historic first, promising "This will be the first session which will have a detailed discussion on the 'Vision Document', which will include suggestions from all parties for the overall development of the State." To make it crystal clear, he said, “This will not be the agenda of any political party, but will be a shared blueprint for the future of the State.” With the Monsoon session buzzing with protests and promises, all eyes are on how these debates will shape Uttar Pradesh’s future.
