Hold your breath, Noida! On August 10, 2025, Central Zone Police smashed a cunning fake International Police and Crime Investigation Bureau office right in Sector 70, Central Noida. Six men, all from West Bengal, were arrested for hoodwinking people by posing as international police officers and even government officials! The mischievous group rented an office just on June 4 and operated there for about 15 days. Using flashy logos and fake documents, they impressed and duped local people, extorting money from innocent victims. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida, Shakti Mohan Awasthy, revealed, “They used to extort money from people by showing fake documents and logos. They also pretended to be government officials to impress people.” Not just offline, they had an online presence too! Their website, www.intlpcrib.in, was used to collect donations, making this scam even more widespread. The six arrested culprits are Vibhash Chandra Adhikari (27), an arts graduate; Aragya Adhikari (26), a law graduate; Pintu Pal (27); Samapdal (25); Babul Chandra Mandal (27); and Ashish Kumar (57), all Class-12 pass. The first four hail from Birbhum district, while Mandal and Kumar are from 24 Parganas and Kolkata. Police seized a treasure trove of fake ID cards, seal stamps (17!), cheque books, ATM cards, visiting cards, and certificates that claimed recognition by ministries! Four dazzling signboards of the fake “International Police and Crime Investigation Bureau,” ₹42,300 cash, and even a CPU were caught from their hideout. Law enforcement has registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Information Technology Act, and the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act at the Phase 3 police station in Central Noida.
