February 1, 2026
The CII Andhra Pradesh Chapter welcomed Union Budget 2026, calling it a balanced and forward-looking plan for India's long-term economic growth. CII-A.P. chairperson Murali Krishna Gannamani told the media on February 1 that the Budget reflects the Centre’s focus on next generation reforms and steady economic growth with macroeconomic stability.
Gannamani said the Budget strengthens key sectors like manufacturing, MSMEs, agriculture, and education. He added, "By reinforcing key sectors such as manufacturing, MSMEs, agriculture and education, the Budget would not only strengthen the nation’s economic foundations but also charts a clear path towards a Viksit Bharat."
He praised the emphasis on productivity, infrastructure, and export competitiveness, saying these will support growth, generate jobs, and improve India’s global economic status, especially benefiting South India.
On MSMEs, he said, "By enabling easier access to credit, technology adoption and skill development, the budget would empower small and medium enterprises to scale, innovate and contribute meaningfully to employment generation and regional economic growth."
CII A.P. Vice-Chairperson S. Narendra Kumar welcomed the launch of Semiconductor Mission 2.0. He noted the increase in the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme’s funding from ₹22,919 crore to ₹40,000 crore.
Other leaders including CII Vijayawada zone chairperson V. Nagalakshmi and notable industry figures spoke on the Budget’s positive impact.
Separately, A.P. Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation president Potluri Bhaskara Rao called the Budget pragmatic amid global economic tensions. He welcomed the ₹10,000-crore SME Growth Fund and ₹4,000 crore top-up to the Self-Reliant India Fund to ease MSME liquidity.
Rao said plans to revive 200 legacy industrial clusters will help micro enterprises. A.P Chambers executive vice-president B. Raja Sekhar said making all CPSE purchases from MSMEs through TReDS will improve liquidity and payments. He also supported the focus on infrastructure in tier-2 and tier-3 cities to boost local economies.
