Kyiv Residents Dance on Frozen River Amid Harsh Winter Blackouts

Russia's attacks have severely damaged Ukraine's energy system. Although Moscow agreed to pause attacks until 1 February, Ukraine's electricity grid remains under heavy strain. Blackouts continue in the midst of a biting winter, with temperatures expected to fall to minus 30C. In a remarkable show of resilience, some Kyiv residents without heating or power gathered for a dance party on the frozen Dnipro river. The BBC’s Abdujalil Abdurasulov spoke to those attendees, who said they wanted to send a message to the world: "despite everything, Ukrainians are still standing strong."
