Hoysala Police Rescue Kidnapping Victim After Quick Namma-112 Tip-off in Hebbagodi
February 2, 2026
A Hoysala patrolling team stopped a kidnapping in Hebbagodi on Friday night after a quick alert to Namma-112. At 10:40 p.m., a caller reported his elder brother was taken in an autorickshaw at Bommasandra Industrial Area. The Namma-112 team informed Hoysala-08 patrol officers. Assistant sub-inspector Lingappa and constable Bandenawaz reached the spot within 20 minutes. They found the suspicious autorickshaw, rescued the victim, and caught the kidnappers. The police seized weapons from the accused and handed them to Hebbagodi Police Station. The victim was Basavaraj, 27, a driver who had sold his goods vehicle to buy a cab. Basavaraj had cash on him, which made him a target. His acquaintance Khaja Pasha, with John Peter and Bharat, planned the abduction. On January 30 around 7 p.m., they lured Basavaraj, kidnapped him, took him to a remote spot, beat him with sticks and clubbed him, robbed ₹1,500, and demanded more money. The police acted quickly before they could escape and arrested all accused. Investigations continue.
