August 12, 2025

A strong team of TDP MPs and MLAs from undivided Anantapur district made their way to New Delhi with a mission! On Monday, August 11, they shook hands with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asking him to renew the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FRCA) license for the Rural Development Trust (RDT) based in Anantapur. Joining them were top Union ministers including Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. The delegation included influential MPs like Ambica Lakshminarayana (Anantapur) and BK Pardhasaradhi (Hindupur), and key local leaders like TDPLP leader Lavu Srikrishna Devarayulu and MLAs Paritala Sunitha, Amilineni Surendra, and Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad. They presented the impressive story of RDT. Over the last 50 years, this trust has been a ray of hope in drought-hit Anantapur, offering vital services that have changed thousands of lives. In health and education, the RDT's ongoing work continues to make a big difference. The delegation made it clear that if the FRCA is not renewed, these life-changing services will come to an abrupt stop. "The lives of thousands of people would be impacted with the non-renewal of FCRA," they pleaded, urging Mr. Amit Shah to act quickly on the pending renewal application. After the meeting, MLA Paritala Sunitha and others expressed happiness over the response from the Home Minister. They said, "Mr. Amit Shah had responded positively to our representation and hoped a favourable decision from the Centre." They also shared that they detailed all the important services the RDT provides to the Minister. This visit has sparked hope that the Rural Development Trust will continue shining as a beacon of support in one of India's toughest drought zones. With the central government's nod, thousands of lives could keep blooming with better health, education, and opportunity.
