Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has ordered authorities to help send the bodies of a family of three from Bihar back home at no cost. The family was murdered recently in Chennai. A government source said Stalin directed the Health and Family Welfare Department to arrange this free service. The victims were Gaurav Kumar, who came to Chennai for work, his 20-year-old wife Munitha Kumari, and their 2-year-old son Birmani Kumar. They were reportedly killed by some men from Bihar a few days ago. The accused have been arrested. Police investigations revealed that Gaurav was staying at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) campus in Taramani, Chennai. He had been promised a job by one of the arrested men, who worked as a day watchman at the institute. On January 24 night, an argument broke out while they were drinking alcohol. The accused men allegedly assaulted and killed Gaurav, his wife, and child. After killing them, the bodies were tied in gunny bags and dumped at different places around Chennai. The Tamil Nadu government is now facilitating the return of the family’s bodies to Bihar at no expense to the relatives.
