Bangalore Club Security Guards Booked for Assault Over Mobile Phone Entry Clash
February 5, 2026
The Cubbon Park police registered an FIR on February 3 against security guards of The Bangalore Club. They are accused of assaulting Rajesh Ananth, a 55-year-old employee of a private firm. The clash happened on February 2 near the club gate on Lavelle Road. The victim had gone to the club with his family on February 1 and forgot his mobile phone inside. When Rajesh came back around 2 p.m. on February 2 to retrieve the phone, security staff denied him entry. Despite his repeated requests, they did not let him in. The refusal led to a heated argument. Rajesh alleged in his complaint that one guard hit him with a cane. Police added that the man, visibly upset and under the influence of alcohol, took off his clothes in protest after the denial. Passers-by caught parts of the incident on mobile phones, and these videos went viral on social media. The police have collected this video evidence and acted on the complaint to register an FIR.
