YouTube Crosses $60 Billion Revenue in 2025, Tops Netflix
February 6, 2026
YouTube has hit a huge milestone by making more than $60 billion in total revenue in 2025. Alphabet, Google's parent company, shared this for the first time, showing money from ads and paid subscriptions. This puts YouTube ahead of Netflix, which earned $45.18 billion in 2025. Only Disney, with $95.7 billion, made more among big entertainment firms.
CEO Sundar Pichai said Alphabet has over 325 million paid subscriptions across services like YouTube Premium, YouTube TV, and Google One. These subscriptions help YouTube earn steady income beyond just ads. Ads still matter a lot. In the last quarter of 2025, YouTube made $11.38 billion from ads worldwide, up 8.7% from last year. But this was slightly less than what experts expected. Pichai noted that lower political ad spending hurt brand ads in that period.
People keep watching more on YouTube. Pichai said that in October 2025 alone, viewers watched over 700 million hours of podcasts on YouTube via TVs. Also, the NFL reached its highest paid subscribers for its Sunday Ticket on YouTube, but the exact number was not shared.
Alphabet also reported strong overall results: $113.8 billion in revenue and $34.5 billion in net income in the fourth quarter, both beating forecasts. For 2026, Pichai said the company will invest $175 billion to $185 billion in AI technology.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan revealed more than one million channels used YouTube's AI tools daily in December 2025. He added that YouTube Shorts now gets 200 billion daily views, with plans for new features and cheaper YouTube TV subscriptions this year.
These numbers prove YouTube is no longer just a video site or rival to Netflix. It has grown into a global media and subscription giant.
