The Lighthouse Bar has opened its doors in Visakhapatnam, taking over from the well-known Someplace Else Bar. The new bar has been carefully designed over three months. It keeps a coastal theme without overdoing it. Warm amber lights, wood, and brushed metal create a peaceful and inviting space. The bar overlooks the sea and the nearby lighthouse, making for a calm atmosphere. Jaydeep Biswas, general manager of The Park, shared their vision: "The intention was to create a bar that feels rooted in this coastline, without being predictable. We wanted guests to feel a sense of familiarity, but also discover something new in the details, whether it is the lighting, the music or what is in the glass and the food." Inside, a screen shows gentle coastal scenes like waves and lighthouse beams, adding to the relaxed mood. The cocktail menu focuses on balance and local flavors. Drinks mix kaffir lime, coconut, and jaggery carefully. Signature cocktails include The Floating Lantern with whisky, honey, and lemon; Ocean Fog with gin and citrus; and Golden Ash with dark rum, pineapple, lime, and egg white. Smoky flavors play a subtle role in some drinks. The food menu is simple but tasty, designed to match the drinks. Seafood dishes like crispy calamari, butter garlic shrimp with millet bread, and smoky BBQ cilantro pomfret stand out. Vegetarian options offer rich and layered flavors, such as creamy wild mushrooms on sourdough toast and charred broccoli with harissa and tahini. As the day turns to night, the bar shifts from a laid-back daytime spot to a refined evening venue. Biswas explains, "We see this as a destination, not a stopover. It is for travellers, locals and anyone who values design, sound and a well-made drink." The Lighthouse Bar operates daily from 11 am to midnight, promising a fresh and elegant experience in Visakhapatnam's nightlife.
