Sleeper Bus Catches Fire Near Nelamangala After Minor Crash, Passengers Safe

A private non-AC sleeper bus going to Yadgir caught fire near Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru after a minor crash late on February 5. The bus, carrying nearly 30 passengers, left Bengaluru around 11 p.m. It crashed into an electric pole near Hanumanthapura Gate on NH-48 around 12:15 a.m. Passengers were quickly evacuated right after the accident. Hours later, flames broke out and the entire bus was engulfed in fire within minutes. A passerby alerted the fire department around 2 a.m. Two fire tenders arrived and controlled the blaze within two hours. Police said all passengers and crew are safe. The exact reason for the fire is still unknown.
