A male tiger had a narrow escape from being tranquilized on Friday in Kurmapuram village, East Godavari district. The tiger was first detected by farmers who found its pug marks in nearby paddy fields. Later, villagers spotted it resting outside an abandoned house and alerted the Forest department. As experts began the tranquilization near the bushes, locals screamed and disturbed the scene. The tiger reacted quickly, diving into an irrigation canal and running into the fields, fleeing the capture attempt. Forest officials, police, and local authorities have urged villagers to stay quiet and avoid disturbing the tiger. However, these appeals have not stopped the noise, making rescue efforts difficult.
