India Denies Pakistan's Claim on Islamabad Mosque Bombing That Killed 31
February 7, 2026
On February 7, 2026, India strongly denied Pakistan's allegations linking it to the deadly mosque bombing in Islamabad. At least 31 people died and 169 were injured when a bomber exploded inside the Khadijah al-Kubra mosque during Friday prayers.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called the attack “condemnable” and said, "India condoles the loss of life it has caused." It added, "It is unfortunate that, instead of seriously addressing the problems plaguing its social fabric, Pakistan chose to delude itself by blaming others for its home-grown ills."
The MEA flatly rejected all claims connecting India to the attack, calling them "baseless" and "pointless."
Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accused India and Afghanistan of involvement without providing evidence. In a social media post, he said, "The collusion between India and Afghanistan is being revealed," claiming the attacker traveled to and from Afghanistan.
The bombing targeted the Shia mosque in Islamabad's Tarlai area, shocking the nation and escalating tensions between the neighbors.
